Arctic Monkeys Coming Home to Sheffield! Arctic Monkeys tickets are now on sale for the Alternative Rock band’s June return to Sheffield. The band will be performing at the Don Valley Bowl under a tent designed especially for this once-in-a-lifetime show. Performing on Friday the 10th of June and Saturday the 11th of June, the Arctic Monkeys will be joined onstage by an array of special guests, including Dead Sons, Miles Kane, The Vaccines, Anna Calvi, and Mabel Love. The Don Valley Bowl, a longstanding Sheffield institution, is pleased to host this exclusive engagement, and will surely prove to be a fantastic venue to the up and coming UK rockers.
Formed in 2002, the Artic Monkeys consist of Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley, Matt Helder, and Hugo Sarmiento. They released their first album, entitled “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not”, in 2006, and through the power of the internet and fan word of mouth it became the fastest selling debut album in the history of the UK. The band is often seen as an internet success story, as they’re one of the first UK bands to become popularised exclusively through their own internet fandom and not their own means of publicity. Heralded as a sign of the upcoming internet age of music, their stratospheric success is certainly owed to their fans ferverent devotion.
