first T in the Park of a new decade is going to be truly huge and after months of fevered speculation, DF Concerts and founding partners Tennent’s Lager are thrilled to be able to unveil the headliners and a whole host of must see acts for T in the Park 2010. Renowned for their ambitious records and juggernaut live performances, British 3-piece Muse bring their epic sonic vision to Balado. Releasing their fifth studio album, ‘The Resistance’, last year the band once again widened their viewfinder further to take in an even greater horizon of sound. ‘The Resistance’ went to number one in 21 countries and scored the band their third consecutive number one in the UK. Without a doubt, their T in the Park 2010 Main Stage headline performance will be a momentous and super-massive occasion. Multi-platinum superstar hip hop artist Eminem heads to Balado for his debut T in the Park performance this July headlining the Main Stage. The first European show to be announced for this artist in 5 years, anticipation for his headline appearance will be sky high. Following the release of his hugely acclaimed and Billboard Chart topping fifth studio album ‘Relapse’ in 2009, Eminem recently picked up two more Grammy Awards to join the nine he’d previously received. A true icon of hip hop in the last decade, Eminem has sold over 75 million albums worldwide. Fresh from picking up their thoroughly deserved Best British Group award at last week’s Brit Awards, excitement has reached fever pitch with both the fans and the band for Kasabian’s first major UK festival headline performance. Riding the waves of an incredibly successful 2009 after the release of their number one album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’, the band were announced as T in the Park 2010’s first headliner in December. The great heretics of British rock; 21st century renegades with a romantic’s heart and a poet’s lust for life, Kasabian will storm the T in the Park Main Stage in 2010. Not only will these Main Stage headline sets go down in history, a host of performance titans join the bill for this July including Black Eyed Peas. A global phenomenon, the ever-curious and ever-confident hip-hop outfit will have the Balado crowd jumping with their buoyant anthemic funk and ebullient live spirit. The Prodigy return for the sixth time to T in the Park. Their incendiary live shows and unique sound have always been a potent hit with the audience and 2010 will see the band rock a headline set on the Radio 1/NME Stage. And knocking this bill out of the T in the Park, multiple Grammy Award winner and personification of the ‘American Dream’ Jay-Z, who has dominated the rap industry and set trends for a generation, brings tracks from his 11 albums of prime material (all number ones in the US) to Balado for his T in the Park debut. Brits Award winners, multi-million selling artists, Grammy Awards winners, music icons…T in the Park 2010 has it all in bucket-loads with just these three acts but they’re only the start. The following acts are also on the bill for this July – more awards, more giant album sales, hot new acts, the best electronic beats…

During their gig at Glasgow’s SECC earlier this month, Kasabian front man Tom Meighan raised the question “Who wants to see us at T in the Park next year?”. The cheers of affirmation nearly took the roof off and in the Christmas spirit of giving people what they want, DF Concerts and founding partner’s Tennent’s Lager are thrilled to announce that Kasabian will be one of the headliners for T in the Park 2010.
Kasabian last visited Balado in 2007 with a storming headline set on the Radio 1/NME Stage just before the release of their second album ‘Empire’. Two number one albums and countless outstanding gigs across the planet later, the band will step on to the Main Stage at T in the Park in July next year for what promises to be a historic moment for the band.
Tom [Meighan] explains “T in the Park holds a special place in our hearts, we’ve always said how much we’d love to headline it and now we are. We can’t wait, we’re going to play a blinder and it’s going to be massive for us and for the crowd.”
Geoff Ellis from DF Concerts adds “I’m chuffed to bits that we can announce one of our headliners this early on. Kasabian blow me away every time I see them and they’re going to be amazing headliners. We’ve had lots of fans tell us they want to see Kasabian headline T in the Park so it’s great to be able to give them an early Christmas present!”

1. Amy Winehouse performs…
Only Amy Winehouse can get a crowd excited by the mere act of turning up. Yet so common is it for Ms Winehouse to cancel shows due to “Exhaustion”, that fans often expect a no-show. Her performance was catchy, talented and kooky – testament to the fact that she is famous for a reason.
2. The Bitter Sweet Verve
Richard Ashcroft of the Verve is no stranger to success, however it appears he is still a stranger to modesty. Before doing a stirring rendition of “Bitter Sweet Symphony”, Mr Ashcroft asked fans the rhetorical question of whether they knew what it was like to write a classic song.
