The lady who took the infamous photos Annie Leibovitz has issued a statement to apologies about the semi-topless picture she took of Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus.

Annie Leibovitz said

I’m sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted. Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it.

“The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little make-up, and I think it is very beautiful.”

Miley Cyrus has been quoted as saying she was “embarrassed” by the pictures taken by Annie Leibovitz.

On Sex and the City: “It’s my favorite show! I love it! Obviously not the scenarios. But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.”

On the infamous semi-topless shot: “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy.”

This years Glastonbury Line up was leaked by the NME.    It is the latest embrassment for glastonbury organisers.   The festival did not sell out within hours like in previous years.   They complex ticket registration scheme was reopened after tickets were still unsold 3 days after they went on sale.

The choice of american rapper Jay Z also caused a stir with old schoolers like Noel Gallagher of Oasis speaking out against him being a headliner.

The BBC have pulled off a major coup, Madonna is to headline the Radio 1 Big Weekend from Maidstone.
The big weekend takes place at Mote Park Maidstone Kent on the weekend of 10 – 11th May 2008.

The big weekend is in its 7th year and is famous for attracting some of the biggest stars from the UK and the rest of the world.
Acts who have played the big weekend in the past include Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand, Keane, Muse, Pink, Foo Fighters, Muse, The Streets, Gwen Stefani and so many more.

The big weekend grew out of the successful One Big Sunday free open air shows. The success of these events led to the Big Weekend which contains the biggest
tent in europe with a 10,000 capacity.
There will be four stages the Main stage for the big acts, the New Music we trust stage for radio 1 evening show bands.
There is also a dance music stage and this year there will also be a BBC Introducing Stage.
In the evenings Pete Tong will host after parties in Maidstone in association with Clubclass at tge Maidstone TV Studios

Boyzone have reformed after more than decade,  the Irish boys will undertake a full tour in May,  before embarking on some outdoor concerts in July.
They first publicly announced their reforming on 16th November 2007 when they appeared on Children in Need. 

The 29-date tour, takes in concerts  in Cardiff, Newcastle, Liverpool, London at the O2 and Wembley,Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Aberdeen,Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Edinburugh Castle and the RDS in Dublin.  The final concert will be in August  at Newmarket racecourse in August.

Lollapalooza Tickets go on sale as Lollapalooza line up is leaked.    The official launch of Lollapalooza is due on 7th April 2008, but strong rumours of the line up are circulating on the internet the Sun Times gathered information on bands playing Lollapalooza from various industry sources . 
Lollapalooza 2008 is going to take place on the weekend of 1st August 2008 to 3rd August 2008 at Grant Park Chicago.

Lollapalooza headliners are expected to be English Legends Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, and Rage Against the Machine.    Also expected on the line up are The Raconteurs, Wilco and rapper Kanye West.
