Elton John has announced a special celebration of the end of the year the O2 Arena in London.

After the incredible success of selling his Red Piano show first staging in Las Vegas and now in the UK in November and December 2008, Elton John announced today a special celebration of the end of the year the O2 Arena. The show, the largest of Elton’s extensive career has been conceived and designed by the renowned photographer and good friend of Elton, David LaChapelle. It is a visual masterpiece that embodies the best moments, and worst moments in the life of Elton, so it’s a personal journey, both for him and his legions of fans.

Elton John has just released his album 3 Deluxe ‘Red Piano’ DVD – a 14-song performance of the best in the show including favorites such as candle in the wind, Su Song, Rocket Man and Little Dancer. His career spans four decades and is one of the best selling single artists of all time. With more than 250 million albums sold 100 million singles, an Oscar and five Grammar, has a sustained and successful career in music history.

Elton commented on the New Year at The O2: “I can not wait to get to spend New Year with 17,000 of my greatest fans. I can think of no better way to meet the 2009″.

Elton John has announced that it will play a gig on New Year’s Eve (December 31) at the London O2 Arena.

The show will be produced by photographer David LaChapelle.

“I can not wait to spend New Year with 17,000 of my greatest fans,” said the singer.

Earlier this week, John announced that he will tour with Billy Joel next year in March.

The American view television programs, said the trip will last “at least two years, and around the world.”
