Ibiza Rock returns to the White Isle, to bring more live rock bands to the island of dance music and Djs. The Ibiza Rocks Brand gets stronger every year. Ibiza rocks opens on Wednesday 1st June 2011 with a concert from Plan B. He will also open Mallorca Rocks a day earlier. The Plan B Concert is the opening gig in a 17 week run of amazing live gigs.
The Curator for Ibiza Rocks is Zane Lowe, He off of Radio 1 and one of the most respected breakthrough DJs on radio. Ibiza Rocks was formed in 2005 to spread live music on the dance music loving island.
Zane Lowe is excited by his new role as Music Director he is quoted as saying
“I DJ-ed at the first ever Ibiza Rocks event and have been a supporter ever since, so it’s great to make it official. It’s exciting, ambitious and totally in tune. The energy is inexplicable and it’s drawn me back year on year. Playing the opening of Mallorca Rocks last year was one of my best gigs to date and I’m delighted to be asked to be a bigger part of the events and the programming this year. Business as usual then. See you in the summer.”
A Zane Lowe favourite the wombats will return to Ibiza Rocks for theFa first time since 2008 and will debut at the Mallorca Rocks this year also. Fatboy Slim is to play both venues on one night he will play Mallorca Rocks, before shifting to Hotel Ibiza Rocks and play the legendary open air venue, where residents get a birds eyes view from the balcony.
Also playing Ibiza Rocks are Friendly Fires and Tinie Tempah he has had a awesome year, peaking last month with two Brit Awards, He will surely play his hit single Pass Out. Another Ibiza Regular will be Dizzee Rascal who will wow audiences with his high tempo show.
Next up are legends Chase and Status who are having hit singles in their own right and will be a huge pull this year. Also playing are Madness , and Scottish Legends Madness.
