Muse revealed the large scale tour via their Twitter account, by tweeting their followers a link to their website where the announcement read: ‘We’re very pleased to announce that Muse will be playing live across the UK and Europe this Autumn.’ muse tickets

The band have decided to use an application process for tickets in order to make sure that members of their website get ‘the first and fairest access to tickets’.

The Twittersphere was delighted with the news and went into overdrive, making the Matt Bellamy-fronted group amongst the top trending topics in the UK.

One user tweeted: ‘Woop! Muse will play London’s O2 Arena on October 26/27. Defs getting tickets.’

A second Twitter user wrote: ‘happiness is.. seeing that @muse are doing a tour at the end of the year!!!!!’

The news comes just after the band revealed a trailer for their upcoming album The 2nd Law, which was met with lukewarm reviews from devoted Muse fans after the trailer teased a clear change in musical direction.

Twitter user Scqueila wrote: ‘I cannot imagine MUSE performing dubstep music live,I just cannot.. While it sounds rly new I hope they leave some of their old sound behind [sic].’

The 2nd Law will be the follow-up to 2009’s The Resistance.

We’re very pleased to announce that Muse will be playing live across the UK and Europe this autumn. Tickets go on general sale on Thursday 14th June. Full dates are listed below. For more information on each date, including ticket prices, on sale times and disabled customer information check out the individual dates in the TOUR DATES section.

In order to make sure that members get the first and fairest access to tickets for these dates we have launched a ticket application system for a limited number of the standing tickets for each date.

During this time members will be able to apply for a maximum of four standing tickets for one show of their choice on the tour. THIS IS NOT A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED PROCESS. You will need to enter your payment details when you submit your application in order for your card to be pre-authorised. If you are successful then money will be taken from your card and tickets allocated by Wednesday 13th June. If you are not allocated tickets then no money will be taken.

Please remember, this process is NOT FIRST COME FIRST SERVED! You have until 18:00 on Sunday 10th June to enter your application.
