Foo Fighters headlining NME Awards Big GiG The NME Awards Big Gig lineup was recently announced and legendary rock band the Foo Fighters are set to headline the show. Additional performers include Cee Lo Green, No Age, and Band of Horses. NME Big Gig tickets will be available for the performance date 25th February, 2011.
The NME Big Gig will take place just two days after the Shockwaves NME Awards ceremony. It was announced that the frontman for the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl, will be awarded the NME Godlike Genius Award. The NME Awards Big Gig will be at the Wembley Arena, the second largest indoor venue in England. Wembley boasts a 12,500 capacity and the historic venue has hosted everyone from The Beatles to Taylor Swift.
Everyone who buys Foo Fighters tickets will receive a free “Godlike Genius” magazine featuring Grohl. The Foo Fighters are expected to preview songs appearing on their upcoming newest album. About the show, Grohl said, “There’s nothing better than seeing that person with that instrument doing it right there in front of you.”
Fellow Big Gig performer Cee Lo Green recently shook up the airwaves with his song, “F*** You.” No Age is an American indie rock group with three studio albums under their belt. The Grammy-nominated Band of Horses is an indie Southern rock band best known for their last album, Infinite Arms.
