Reading Festival Headliners will all be American.

The Reading Festival and Leeds Festival will be headlined by three American acts they organisers of the festivals has confirmed.
Melvin Benn has confirmed he has booked the acts but was unwilling to announce who they are at this stage. If you think you know who they are please comment below.
Last year US act Smashing Pumpkins were one of the headliners, they is a reading festival rumour that rage against the machine will be one of those US headliners.

The Festival has also confirmed that they will not be looking to replace Carling as sponsors of the festival, The Reading Festival’s official title was the Carling Weekender for the past few years.
Festival Republic (previously known as Mean Fiddler) are not looking for a replacement as they look to make the festival less corporate, and they want the festivals go back to their roots by being called the Reading Festival and Leeds Festival.
The Reading Festival takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend of 22nd August and 24 August 2008.

Festival Republic are also looking to make the festival more green and environmentally friendly like they’re other festival the Latitude Festival in Southwold, Suffolk.
The Latitude festival has won awards for being the greenest festival, they return a small deposit on each bottle returned to the bar etc. Some of these features are looking to be added to the reading and leeds festivals.
