The V Festival enters day 2 and music-festivals.co.uk are there live to give you all the v festival gossip and news.
The rain stayed away from Chelmsford’s Hylands Park on Saturday as 80,000 people rocked to the tunes of Muse, Stereophonics, and The Prodigy.

Muse headlined Hylands Park last night, it was a welcome return to the V Festival, they were keen to perform after their last performance was hit by the bass player injuring his wrist and they had to go on stage with a last minute replacement.
The V Festival is always seen as the more mainstream of the summer festivals the main stage has its own carpet, and the music is more top 40 than hard-core dance or indie.
This years V Festival has been no different with both pop and urban acts mixing it up with the regular festival acts of Indie and Dance music bands.
V Festival Chelmsford hosted acts such as electronic dance pioneers The Chemical Bros to pop acts Girls Aloud and Pop Idol winner Will Young, together with the usual indie acts like the Pigeon detectives and The Verve.

The V Festival weather avoided any of the forecasted rain and there was even regular sunny spells as the clouds broke, to add the festival fans feel good vibe.
Celebs at V Festival included Gareth Gates, and Kelly Osbourne.
The Stereophonics made a welcome return to the V Festival they originally played the V Festival as one of the first acts on the other stage way back in the 90s. lead singer Kelly gave the fans what they wanted by playing a greatest hits set, playing all their huge singles.
Another 90s act came back to V Festival on Saturday. Essex Boy Rave Act the Prodigy showed they still have the on stage energy like they did when they first broke into the music scene in the beginning of the 1990s. Keith Flint has not lost any of his nutty energy as Liam Howlett the musical brains of the Prodigy pump out the music as Keith gave an amazing front man performance to old favourites like Firestarter and Spitfire.
The V Festival closes today with the acts that played Chelmsford today moving onto Weston Park and vice versa.

The V Festival organisers are expected to announce that V Festival 2009 tickets go on sale this week. If V2009 is anything half as good as V Festival 2008 we recommend you grab your tickets while you can.
